Programs & Services

Expanding our collective voice is the most important goal of our organization. We seek to support, empower, connect and amplify LGBTQ+ voices. Our success isn’t measured in terms of wealth or profit margin, but by the value we provide to those we serve. Learn more about what we do below.

What we do:

Recognizing the enormity of the challenges the LGBTQ+ Community faces, My Galvanized Friend is dedicated to making a lasting impact through a variety of programs.

Quarterly Literary Magazine

MGF publishes a biannual literary magazine featuring queer fiction, essays, poetry, and art.

Book Club

MGF seeks to partner with the Friends of Dorothy Book Club and the Tempe Public Library. We seek to expand access to this queer-centric club by enabling audio, video and virtual participation.

Author Events

MGF seeks to work with bookstores, independent queer authors, and publication houses to sponsor author readings, signings, and Q&A sessions in person and virtually.

Community Events

MGF organizes and enables community meetings, workshops, art demonstrations, book swaps, and other events centered around queer art and queer literature.

Expanding Access

MGF seeks to expand access to queer literature by collecting and disseminating queer works to book clubs, classrooms, student clubs, and households of under-priviledged youth.

LGBTQ+ Advocacy

MGF seeks to advocate against efforts to limit access to queer literature through book bans and censorship.
