Literary Submissions

The My Galvanized Friend literary magazine is published quarterly (starting June, 2024) and is focused on highlighting works from those identifying as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Each issue includes fiction, nonfiction, and essays between 500 and 3,500 words as well as works of poetry and original works of art by queer artists across the United States. Submissions must be LGBTQIA+ content created by LGBTQIA+ identified submitters.

We read year-round and seek to provide responses within 3-4 weeks. However, periods surrounding publication may see slight delays in feedback. We do accept simultaneous submissions but ask that we are notified timely of any piece accepted at an alternate publication or otherwise withdrawn from consideration.

All submissions will be considered regardless of length, but priority will be given to submissions meeting the following guidelines:

  • Fiction, nonfiction, and essays between 500 and 3,500 words
  • Poetry 2 pages or less

Upon acceptance, My Galvanized Friend receives non-exclusive worldwide rights to publication. The creator’s name will be listed as submitted including any pseudonyms or privacy as requested. Selected pieces will be paid an honorarium of $25 per fiction/nonfiction/essay and $10 per page of poetry. Payments will be exclusively digital (PayPal, Venmo, Zelle).
